  Welcome from the Director

Dear Friends,

For many years I felt called to create a Spirituality Center in Las Vegas. Having no means myself, and an alien in your midst, I did not know why God entrusted this work to me. But in the great tradition of Abraham and Sarah I took the first step into the unknown, and true to that great faith story, I “was led in stages”. Along the way I met companions and benefactors who helped to make the center a reality. I am humbled and grateful to offer Stillpoint, as a Center for Spiritual Development, to Las Vegas.

I see this center as a Sacred Space, an oasis in the desert, a spiritual haven in “Sin City”, a refuge in a harsh world, a still point in a frenzied society. Its focus is interfaith, it is a place where seekers of all faiths will be welcome as they search for meaning in a secular world, and seek to experience the Divine in their lives. It is my hope that all who come can experience the invitation - “Be still and know that I am God.”

Facilities at Stillpoint include a library, a meditation room, conference rooms, consulting rooms and administrative offices. Programs will be holistic, consistent with the Incarnational model of Spirituality, which has been the hallmark of my ministry. They will include retreats, classes and workshops designed for personal, professional and spiritual development. Spiritual Direction will be available, and in time I hope to provide a training program for Spiritual Companioning.

While Stillpoint was initially seeded by the generosity of a private Foundation, we depend solely on fees and donations for the Running Costs. I hope that you will consider Stillpoint as worthy of your charitable contributions.

As we go forward into a new and daring venture, I am mindful of the psalmist - “If the Lord does not build the house, in vain do its builders labor”. I ask for your prayers so that we do not labor in vain, but that the Lord does indeed “build” the place, that is Stillpoint. I look forward to welcoming you here.

Joining with Abraham, Sarah and the generations of holy women and men who dared to follow the call into the unknown, I wish you courage for the journey, peace in the midst of uncertainty and faith in the One who promises to be with us on the way.
