September 13Spirituality and Health: An Attitude of Gratitude
Gratitude lies at the heart of our being. It is the response to the power of grace at work in our lives. Gratitude invites the soul to a quality of joy, which we recognize to be the fruit of faith. In recent years, psychologists and contemplatives have spent time studying positive emotions as they relate to our personal and social experience. What they have discovered is wonderful and eye-opening. We are learning that gratitude leads to more positive ways in which to approach our experience as cognitive, moral and contemplative beings, with earthly origin and a heavenly destiny.

Come and learn how the practice of Gratitude transforms our experience and that of everyone around us. Learn of the empirical studies on gratitude and what is being discovered. Learn gratitude practices to enhance your own quality of awareness. Thank you for listening! Thank you for who you are!

Presenters: Mark Baxter, D.C. and Gard Jameson, Ph.D.

Birthing the Seasons of Our Lives
"To everything there is a season" ....moments in our lives to be open to change, growth, transformation. When we are young, we are as Richard Rohr states, in the first stage of our lives. Our lived experiences create a changed perception about ourselves and others as we live in the second stage of life. Each of these stages have seasons to them, as do the changing seasons in nature. During this time together, we move with God's movements in our lives and find new Discoveries!

October 4God of Our Silent Tears
Illness, War, Violence, Death, Poverty, and Injustice, are some of the evils that hurt and threaten us, personally and globally. Our grappling with the paradox of Suffering and a loving God, lead us to rush to find answers. None quite satisfy. Bishop Dan Edwards attempts to deal with this universal question in his recent book- God of Our Silent Tears. He does not offer pious platitudes or religious niceties that are escapist, or simplistic, the kinds of answers that set up barriers between God and us, and can vitiate our ability to serve God in the world. This was Jeremiah’s complaint “They have healed my people's wounds too lightly.”
This workshop aims to explore how our encounters with the brokenness of life can lead to a deeper relationship with God, and in turn how make us instruments of grace in our world.

Facilitator: The Rt. Rev. Dan Edwards, Episcopal Bishop of Nevada
Time:9:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Cost: $40

November 7 & 8Introduction to the Enneagram
The Enneagram is an ancient and unfolding system of knowledge which describes nine universal patterns of human personality. It is a powerful tool of discernment that can help free us from unconscious and destructive repetitive patterns that dictate our worldview and prevent us from reflecting “the face of God” which we are all gifted to express.

Who Should Attend?
At Stillpoint we offer the Enneagram primarily in service of the Spiritual Life. It is recognized by contemporary spiritual teachers as one of the greatest aids to the transformational work of spirituality. The Enneagram is a tremendous tool for employers, teachers, therapists and all who work in service of human relations. It is one of the best psychological helps for anyone seeking to understand self or others, and very useful to understanding conflict in relationships.

The plight of immigrants is central to the three great Abrahamic Religions, where hospitality to the stranger was given highest priority.
Dates: Monday, Nov. 10 through Thursday, Nov. 13
Cost: $290 per person. Includes Dormitory–style accommodation; Transportation; Meals; Facilitators; and all expenses during this unique experiential learning delegation.
